Speech Therapy

As parents, you might notice the variety of skills and personality your little one develops after they were born. It is a sight to watch them pay attention to the environment around them and show ways to express what they feel and what they want.

The pace in which a child develops varies and while others were able to achieve some milestones earlier, this is not the case in some children and that is completely okay. Developmental delays should not be a cause of worry among parents because there are early interventions available that can help children deal with such conditions.

A speech disorder is one of the most common problems among children and it refers to the difficulty with producing sound. This may include articulation disorders that involve problems with pronouncing words correctly in a manner that can be understood by others and fluency disorders that are known as stuttering or the repetition or prolonging of syllables. Also included are voice problems that associate the volume, pitch or quality of the voice of a child. Children who are diagnosed with this disorder usually experience discomfort or pain when speaking.

One of the therapies that we offer here at Holsman Children  Therapy Center is Speech Therapy which focuses on evaluating, diagnosing and treating disorders affecting your child’s ability to swallow or speak. Our speech therapists work with your child to overcome speech problems, using a wide range of strategies and techniques to make learning more engaging for your children.

One of the techniques they use includes interacting with children using stimulating toys and other objects to perform certain exercises and training which helps in building their language skills. Play activities are being introduced every now and then and with our play-focused environment, we can keep your child’s focus on the exercise which will yield amazing results and benefits at the end of the program.

We also offer articulation therapy to help children make certain sounds. There are tongue exercises that are necessary to produce specific sounds. Our motor and feeding therapy is comprised of oral exercises that help promote muscle strength to provide your child with ease in doing normal activities such as drinking, eating and swallowing.

The games and activities that we prepare are age-appropriate and are based on the years of study and experience in working with different children who have different speech conditions.

Our facility is a second home to children who want their conditions to get treated while they are able to fully enjoy an environment that allows them to do things common to their age such as playing and having fun.

Parents with children who have hearing problems, weak oral muscles, developmental delays, autism, articulation disorders, eating and swallowing disorders, motor problems, and other speech-related disorders are welcome to visit our facility for a consultation. Allow our therapists and specialists at Holsman Children’s Therapy Center to help your children take the first step to health and wellness.
